Plain-language privacy notice

Your child’s story is a family choice.

This notice explains the Storybook Studio pilot in everyday language. It is product information, not legal advice or a statement that the pilot meets every legal requirement.

What happens at school

The classroom part is designed to be offline and paper-first. TaleSprout asks teachers not to enter or upload student names, recordings, photographs, written stories, or other details that identify a child. We do not create student accounts, rosters, individual child profiles, classroom uploads, or class-code-to-student mappings for this pilot.

What happens at home

A family receives the same general TaleSprout link. Before adding a story, a parent or caregiver must actively acknowledge that they are submitting their own child’s information for the stated purpose of creating a family storybook preview. Parents choose whether to continue.

What this pilot stores

The current demo keeps story text only in the browser session on the family’s device. It does not upload or send the text while it is being written. Voice recording, audio upload, transcription, illustration generation, and book delivery are not active in this pilot.

Future family books

If full storybook generation and printing are added later, families will see an updated notice before that service is used. A school is not the purchaser or data controller for parent-owned family books under this pilot flow.

Questions or deletion requests

To ask a privacy question or request deletion of information you have submitted through a future connected service, email our team. Please do not include a child’s story in the email unless we ask for it securely.
